Exquisitely carved Black Forest hunters cuckoo clock. The case is in an unusual round design, without a separate pediment. The carvings are excellent in detail and quality. Large 3 foot clock allows this piece to displayed in a large room.
The brass plate fusee movement is robust,and gives the clock a 8 day running duration with a single winding. The movement also has a night shut off complication allowing the cuckoo call to be silenced.
This clock was made by the clock making firm Fürderer Jaegler & Cie. who made extremely high quality clocks during the 19th century.
